Opelika's Clean Up Day

Thanks guys for all the hard work and sweat.  You did a wonderful job.

Some of us had LOTS of fun.....

We got to go to Birmingham to tour The Vulcan and then we enjoyed our pinic lunch in the park there at the Vulcan.  The boys toured the small museum and went to the top of The Vulcan.  The weather was perfect as were the boys.

Then we headed over to tour the Sloss Factory.  I must say it was pretty interesting.

The boys were wondering where the ghost where.....I just don't know!!!

Finally we headed over to the McWane Science Center where we played all afternoon.  Then we got to spend the night and work on our individual pins etc....

I didn't think these boys were ever going to go to sleep.

Did they???  I did....

Some moms (Wendy) had a great time playing soccer with the boys.  I think she worked up a sweat.

Congratulation to these boy for completing God and Family.  We are so very proud of each of you.

Snakes....Snakes.....and more Snakes.



The boys had fun learning about all the different snakes around us.  They played on the playground and had a pinic lunch.  We look forward to returning here for another great outing.

Scouting for Food

I really want to thank theses boy for helping with our Scouting For Food.  We collected 781 pounds of food for our local food bank.  I can't be exact but I think we placed around 4th in our district.  That was around half way.  Community Service projects are important to Scouting.  Thanks guys and yes another JOB WELL DONE.

They were a few other boys that did collect but could not be there on delivery day.  Thank you also for helping out the ones in need.

Derby Races

All the boys have such a great time preparing and racing these cars. This is one of our favorite activities.  Below are some photos of all the different cars.

My favorite part of this night is hearing the boys cheer each other on !!!!



The banner below we were able to purchase this year for the Christmas Parade. We are very excited about it.  On it you will notice the word TROOP.  Well.....this is also exciting for us. We will be starting up Troop 858.  Now we will not lose any of our older scouts.  Our Webelos II boys will be crossing over this year.  This means they will be leaving Cub Scouts and becoming a Boy Scout.  WOW....we are so very proud of these boys.
